Evening shoemaking class

Evening shoemaking class

These evening classes are a valuable introduction to traditional, hand welted shoemaking and are taught by master shoemakers James Ducker and Deborah Carré.

The classes are booked in terms of 10 weeks, giving you the chance to learn at your own pace. In our experience, it takes three terms to complete a pair of shoes working at a steady, but relaxed pace.

For the course, you are each provided with:

Using hand held tools, you are then guided through the 200+ stages involved in hand making a pair of shoes. You then take away a pair of shoes that you have made yourself and the notes and know-how to keep on making! All other materials are provided.

As places become available each term, they are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To see a shoemaking course in action, visit our blog.
