We’ve stocked the shop with a wide range of the handsewn shoemaking and leather kits, tools and materials that we work with here in our Shoreditch workshop, in east London. There’s everything that you will need for handsewn shoemaking, we can order lasts and uppers to your brief, as well as starter leather work kits and specialist shoe making tools and materials.
Our bespoke shoe making materials include home-made thread wax, Bakers’ oak bark tanned leather and calf leather uppers, which you can have made to order. (If we don’t sell something it’s often because you’ll be able to find it at your local hardware store or there is a simple alternative, like fishing line instead of bristles).
Our leather tool kit and projects are designed to get you making and to enjoy working with one of the oldest and most versatile materials known to man. Leather is wonderful to work with; we use vegetable tanned leathers from artisanal tanneries in Italy and England whose natural properties mean that they wear well with use and age, are repairable, bio-degradable and have a low carbon footprint.
