Wooton Chelsea Boot

Chelsea boots, a perennial favourite, most people to love them. And we are no exception. They are so versatile, from weekend stompers to elegant steppers like these beauties – the Wooton. The basic style is defined by a few standards – a simple blocked boot with elastic side gussets but the variety comes with the contour of the last, the sole material, the shape of the elastic gussets. They can be wholecut with a backseam or seams can be discretely placed under the elastic gussets. We have even see seamless wholecut chelses boots but that is rare.

The Wooton is definitley on the elegant end of the chelsea boot spectrum. Although we made them with a square waist, we pulled it in quite a lot to give them an elegant curve. The thin leather sole also adds to the elegance, along with simple almond shaped toe

The upper leather is a wonderfully soft veg tanned calf from Italy. It is buttery and easy to shine, unusual in a new calf leather

UPPERS: Mid-brown veg tanned calf; hand blocked vamps; backseam; wholecut

LINING: Straw veg tanned calf skin; hand blocked

MAKING: standard heel height; 1/4″ sole; hand stitched welt; stacked leather heel; hand finished heels and edges; natural finish throughout; 10 SPI
